Ocean Air, Fresh Ideas and a Studio Stocked for Christmas
It's been quiet on the blog lately, and there's a good reason: I've been away! I've just come back from a holiday in California, and I can honestly say it was exactly what Little Hummingbird Studio needed.
Stopping to Recharge
After a whirlwind first stretch of launching the new name, the markets and the branding, I hadn't properly stopped for breath. This trip gave me the chance to do just that. Time to switch off, slow down and soak it all in, ready for the busiest season of the year.
I came home with a head full of ideas, especially for my seascapes. Spending time by the Pacific, watching the colours shift and the water move, was the kind of inspiration you simply can't get from a reference photo. I can't wait to start translating it into resin and wood. Watch this space!
Back at the Market
Yesterday's Cheltenham Craft Market was my first market in a month, and it felt wonderful to be back behind the stall, catching up with familiar faces and showing off the new branding after my break.
And Now, It Gets Busy
The calm doesn't last long. Next weekend I'll be at both Witney Craft Market and The Suffolks Market, so the studio is a hive of activity at the moment. I'm busy creating stock, and I'm also working on two commissions, which I'm really enjoying getting stuck into.
If you're planning to come along, I'd love to see you. Come and say hello!
Here's to a refreshed maker and a very full Christmas season ahead.
