First Market as Little Hummingbird Studio

Today was a big one! The very first time I set up a stall in Cheltenham under my new name, Little Hummingbird Studio. After so many years as Woody’s Boutique this was like the first day back at school.

Day 1 of the new name, stand, brand…!

The Nerves Were Real

I'll be honest, I was nervous. Really nervous. This wasn't just a market day, it was the debut of a whole new name, a new logo, a new stall layout. All the little details I'd agonised over for weeks were finally out in the world for people to see and judge for themselves. There's something quite vulnerable about that first reveal, putting a piece of your creative identity on a table and hoping it lands.

It did.

Cheltenham Showed Up

The weather couldn't have been kinder. Bright, warm, proper summer market energy. Honestly, that made such a difference. People linger longer when the sun's out, they chat more, they browse without rushing off. The whole day had this lovely relaxed buzz to it.

And the customers! So many warm, genuinely lovely people stopped by, not just to buy, but to talk. Several people commented on the new name and the stall layout specifically, which meant more to me than I expected. All those hours spent second-guessing fonts and colour palettes suddenly felt worth it.

What Flew Off the Table

A few pieces were clearly the stars of the day:

  • Resin artwork - these caught eyes from across the market and pulled people in

  • Wooden coasters - simple, practical, and clearly a crowd favourite

  • Resin wave coasters - the mix of colours helps to match anyone’s style

Looking Ahead

First markets are a strange thing, equal parts terrifying and exciting. But today gave me exactly the confidence boost I needed heading into this next chapter as Little Hummingbird Studio. Same hands, same workshop, but a name and a look that finally feels like me.

Here's to the next one.
